Why are todays home workout equipment not working?
There is an overall feeling that the home and fitness market is flooded with useless equipment that just lays
around and collects dust. The most exercise most users get are during the process of setting up and ultimately taking down these pieces of scrap. Since a persons physique is very closely linked to their self esteem, the marketeers of these products definitely have the upper hand. It feels as if they can sell you second hand gum if you were promised lovelier legs and bigger guns. The psychological implications of this marketing scheme should be left for another article. At the moment, lets look at the actual reasons why most home fitness equipment fail to deliver on their promise.
Most home fitness equipment are difficult to understand never mind to use. They come along with thick manuals and explanatory DVDs, proving their high learning curve. This is a major detriment, since the most important thing to an end product user is to start using the equipment immediately and hopefully see results just as fast. Keeping a product extremely easy to grasp and utilize becomes very important for its success. The easier, the better. This is especially true to fitness equipment where return on investment becomes a critical point to the end user.
By studying younger generations especially children, one can realize a lot of forgotten truths. One of these in particular is that humans tend to do on a regular basis, things that they find fun. Even when we work we try to make it fun, so why not when we workout. For those that stay in shape as an occupation it is a different story, but for the majority of us it has to be an enjoyable experience. It is true that there will arrive a point during a workout session that the funness of it evaporated somewhere in between the thought “I’ll just do it tomorrow” and “Oh I wish its over already!”. For this exact reason, home workout equipment undoubted have to possess the ability to disguise the uncomfortable part of working out while still providing you with results.
